Protecting your privacy is of great importance to the Lower Long Lake Protection
and Rehabilitation District (LLLPRD). The following statement of policy
will help you understand how LLLPRD collects, uses, and safeguards the personal
information you provide to us.
- Information Collected
When you use the LLLPRD website (http://lllprd.org) or send us e-mail or other
correspondence, we may collect and retain the personal information you
provide.
If you elect to participate in such current or future website features such as
the LLLPRD on-line member directory, one of LLLPRD's on-line forums, a survey,
or other interactive portions of the site, the data you supply is collected
and retained by the website for the purposes of servicing your request.
Every form that requests information will explain how the information will be
used. Data that you submit may or may not be associated with your
identity; we make this distinction clear whenever that would be appropriate.
Data that you submit, either personally identifiable or not, may be used in
statistical surveys that do not reveal information about you.
Our website may utilize "cookies" to establish a session (a related sequence
of web pages) whenever you utilize the site. The session cookie is an
opaque identifier (a pseudo-randomly generated number) such as
3a4187e6f4259e97c0b44e95abd25e9c that is used only to uniquely identify the
session, and contains no other information. Optionally, you may
choose to enable one of the automatic sign-on options that are or may in the
future be available on the site. In this case, a permanent cookie will
be used to identify you to the LLLPRD website as as a particular member.
The automatic sign-on cookie also is an opaque identifier that contains no
personally identifiable information.
We may collect information about your browser type, Internet Protocol (IP)
address, and web pages (URLs) browsed on the LLLPRD website solely for
statistical analysis of site users and for troubleshooting.
We do not collect information about children. If you are under the age
of 13, please do not submit personal information to us, but rather ask your
parent or guardian to help you use our website.
- How LLLPRD will use or share the information you collect
Unless you give your explicit permission, LLLPRD will not disclose any
information you supply to parties other than:
a. LLLPRD Officers and their designees (e.g. Committee
members) with a need to know the information to conduct official business of
LLLPRD
b. Firms under contract to LLLPRD for specific purposes such
as mailing our hard-copy newsletter or processing transactions or other
official business
c. Information required for financial transactions will be
provided to financial institutions
d. Information that is required to be made public or filed
with government entities due to the nature of LLLPRD being a public
organization. Generally, this information is limited to contact
information for Board members.
When such disclosures are made, the minimum amount of information that is
needed will be disclosed to the appropriate party, and the person or
organization providing service will be required to comply with our privacy
policy. Other than the above four cases, we will not disclose any
information that we collect about you or your use of the LLLPRD website
unless:
a. You give us explicit permission to disclose identified
information in a specific context
b. We are served with a written subpoena or court order.
We are not responsible for notifying a member of a subpoena request.
- Marketing Uses of Collected Information
Your personally-identifiable information will be held in strictest confidence
and not used for marketing purposes. However, you may receive
newsletters and similar official communications from LLLPRD for purposes of
conducting LLLPRD business.
- Inquires About Our Privacy Policy
If you have questions or concerns about LLLPRD's privacy policy, please
contact LLLPRD's Board by email at
board@lllprd.org or by postal mail at:

- Information Protection
For cost and performance reasons, the LLLPRD website at present does NOT use
Secure Socket Layer (SSL) encryption for transfer of personal information over
the Internet. However, the risk of interception of
personally-identifiable data is very small. LLLPRD uses a reputable
website hosting company,
Iserv.
Iserv servers and the data they
contain are protected against unauthorized access by commercially reasonable
policies, procedures, technical controls, and physical security.
- The LLLPRD website may contain links to other Internet websites.
LLLPRD is not
responsible for the privacy practices or the content of such websites.
- Changes to Our Privacy Policy
LLLPRD may periodically revise this privacy policy. Members may review
the current privacy policy at any time by following the "Privacy" link present
on many pages of the LLLPRD website. If the privacy policy is
substantively revised, LLLPRD will notify website users at least 30 days in
advance of such change. A member may direct LLLPRD to remove all
personally identifiable information from the site between the time such notice
is posted and 24 hours before the time at which the new privacy policy is
effective; this removal will be accomplished before the new policy takes
effect.
Approved by the LLLPRD Board on 14 Apr 2003. Your
comments are welcome.
